of a small living

This is a BEFORE and AFTER of a small living room I designed for a client. She wanted a California coastal feel. Relaxed, casual with clean lines. The colors used were aqua, tan, brown and coral as an accent. The sofa and area rug (nylon sisal with leather edge) were custom made to fit the space. The aqua silk drapes are bordered in brown. Most of the other furnishings were purchased through national home stores. The sofa pillows were custom, except for the 2 brown and blue stripe pillows. They were from HomeGoods. The colors and pattern were right for the space. I’ve found, when furnishing a room, try mixing furnishings from many sources, stores, and with things you already have. Then you won’t get the ” everything from the same store or catalog look.” A personal, unique mix is always more interesting.
